The Trygve Lie gallery is located in and run by the Norwegian Seamen's Church in New York. The was established to contribute to the promotion of Norwegian, Norwegian-American and Scandinavian art to a broad audience in the city of New York. In addition to exhibiting art and documentary projects, the gallery space is used for recitals, conferences, performances etc.

History
On September 19th 2003, the Norwegian Ambassador to the US, Knut Vollebæk, officially opened the new gallery. The gallery is named for the first Secretary General of the UN, Trygve Lie.

The Inaugural Exhibition - Norwegian Artists in New York - took place February 2004 with H. E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations and Mrs. Annan as guests of honor.
